Success is viewed with suspicion. Individuals who fall prey to this myth are constantly looking for successful people and asking questions such as: “Who did he take advantage of? Who did he ran over to get to where he is now? They simply can’t believe that anyone could become successful without taking shortcuts or using other people.

Idea of the week for August 18 – 23, 2008

Motivation determines what you do. Ability determines what you are capable of doing and attitude determines how well you do it. In writing about the Olympics, the late sport columnist, Jim Murray commented that, in the history of games, the difference between a gold medalist and a silver medalist in all the timed events was less than one-tenth second. That’s not ability that’s attitude.

Once again Henry ford has this amazing strategy. Failure was never final to him. Like his contemporary, Thomas Alva Edison, he expected failures on the way to success. It was part all part of the learning process. He allowed failures to tutor him, then he continued down the path smarter and wiser
